We learnt:
Public knowledge about healthy lifestyles is actually quite high.
People broadly understand what a healthy lifestyle entails. The reason they are not taking the next step is because their barriers are not being addressed in the design of programmes and interventions.
The opportunity:
If we recognise that ‘more of the same’ will not work, we need to consider an en masse review of key programmes and interventions. We need evidence-based approaches to be the norm. This means identifying then scaling what is already working at a local level, ‘killing’ interventions that don’t work or cannot be proven to be working and inventing new concepts to fill the gaps.
